Borrowing Books


  • Borrowing books

    Members may borrow up to 4 books at a time, without charge, for up to 3 months.

    If, in the view of the Librarian, a book is particularly valuable, the Guild reserves the right to require a deposit, which will be refunded on safe return of the book.
  • To order a copy by post

    If you would like to obtain a copy of the Library Catalogue by post, please write to the This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. with details of your name and address, enclosing a cheque for £3.00 made payable to The Guild of Pastoral Psychology.
  • Returning books

    Books should be returned to the Librarian, either in person at a Guild meeting or by post.
  • Renewing books

    Books may be renewed with the Librarian (link to Administrator contact details), provided they have not been reserved by another member.
  • Overdue books

    If a book is more than a month overdue, the Guild reserves the right to levy a fine of £3 per week.


    If a book is not returned within 3 months of its due date, the Guild reserves the right to replace the book and then to require reimbursement from the borrower. In exceptional circumstances, the Guild reserves the right to bar a Member from using the Library.
